Rehabilitating Aleppo Thermal Power Plant

The project is intended to restore generating capacity and contribute to more stable electricity supplies for approximately 5 million people, while supporting economic and industrial activity. [sana.sy]

Housing and Healthcare Infrastructure

The agreements allocate $60 million to rehabilitate up to 10,000 damaged housing units, while another $100 million will support the rehabilitation, construction, and equipping of hospitals and healthcare centers. [sana.sy]

Another $105 million will finance the establishment, rehabilitation, and equipping of 25 civil defense centers to strengthen emergency and disaster-response capabilities. [sana.sy]

Water and Digital Transformation

A $30 million project will modernize drinking-water metering systems through the installation of 300,000 smart water meters, expected to benefit approximately 1.5 million people. [sana.sy]

More than $18 million will also support digital transformation and institutional development within government financial services. [sana.sy]

Infrastructure Creates Investment Opportunities

The impact of these projects extends beyond public services. Improved infrastructure can also create a more supportive environment for private economic and investment activity.

Investment in electricity, housing, healthcare, and water can generate additional demand across construction, building materials, energy, equipment, technology, engineering, and logistics services.

For investors, improvements in essential infrastructure can materially change the operating conditions and feasibility calculations of future projects.

Better Infrastructure Changes Investment

A stronger investment environment depends not only on commercial opportunities but also on infrastructure capable of supporting sustainable business activity.

When infrastructure improves, investment calculations change.
