Job Summary:
The Electrical Engineer – Networks is responsible for the design, implementation, and supervision of electrical distribution systems within energy and infrastructure projects, ensuring compliance with technical standards and operational safety. The role includes conducting technical studies, preparing shop drawings, site supervision, and performing inspection and commissioning tests. The engineer also coordinates with suppliers, technicians, and contractors to ensure high-quality and timely project delivery.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Project Leadership and Field Operations Management:
- Plan, execute, and oversee the installation and maintenance of electrical plants and power distribution networks.
- Develop and manage project schedules, budgets, and timelines.
- Lead teams of technicians, contractors, and support staff to deliver projects effectively and on time.
- Maintenance & Troubleshooting
- Diagnose and resolve technical issues related to electrical systems, including transformers, switchgear, circuit breakers, and other distribution equipment.
- Perform routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and system upgrades to ensure operational reliability.
- Design & Implementation
- Assist in the design and review of electrical system layouts, wiring diagrams, circuit schematics, and single-line diagrams.
- Evaluate project requirements and recommend the most effective systems and equipment to meet client needs.
- Safety & Compliance
- Enforce adherence to HSE (Health, Safety, and Environmental) protocols and electrical safety standards.
- Conduct risk assessments and ensure compliance with regulatory and company standards.
- Collaboration & Client Support
- Coordinate with clients, project managers, vendors, and other stakeholders throughout project lifecycles.
- Provide technical guidance and after-sales support to clients, addressing queries and ensuring high customer satisfaction.
- Reporting & Documentation
- Prepare project and maintenance reports, technical documentation, and as-built drawings.
- Maintain accurate records of work schedules, materials used, and system performance.
Required Skills and Qualifications
Academic Qualification:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (Power or Networks specialization)
Technical Skills:
- Strong knowledge of medium and high voltage systems
- Proficiency in electrical design software (AutoCAD, ETAP, Dialux, Revit MEP)
- Ability to prepare both shop and as-built drawings
- Skilled in preparing O&M manuals and inspection reports
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
- Familiarity with international electrical codes (IEC, NEC, etc.)
